Keeping the lines of communication open in a town like ours is a difficult task, but one which the Township Committee has highlighted as a primary responsibility for our local government.  This website serves as one of our key methods in keeping the community informed of important issues and events.

While you are on our site, please be sure to take a moment to explore.  Be sure to sign up for our resident notification system - Swift911 available below.  Shamong Township utilizes the Swift911 system to keep our residents up-to-date with periodic phone calls, emails and/or text messages from the Township to advise of road closures, updates on important issues facing our community, as well as actions to be taken in the event of an emergency.  Suggestions on how to improve the site or the type of information you think we should have available are always welcome.

The members of the Township Committee and I thank you for helping make Shamong Township such a wonderful place to live.

Mayor Michael Di Croce

Shamong Township is proud to announce the refurbished ambulance has arrived for Indian Mills Volunteer EMS Squad.   The IMVFC and Shamong Township Committee worked together to secure a lower cost alternative to purchasing a brand new ambulance.  The Township & IMVFC were able to secure a new truck chasis and mount a refurbished, used ambulance box to realize a 50% savings ($105K).  This innovative thinking will provide the tools to serve our community for many years to come at a fraction of the original projected costs!
